high school coaches in athletic recruiting...

well, I think the hope is that most HS coaches play a huge role in the athletic recruiting process. The problem is that most just don’t have time to do much outside of occasionally talking to college coaches. Some athletes have better experiences than others as it just depends on the HS coach and their background in dealing with the recruiting process. It is not part of their job descriptions, but boy does it help...if they do take an active process in getting their graduating

athletes into colleges to play at the next level, but to expect them to do it...your lucky if you have a coach that actually has the time. He/She may also be a teacher or counslor and after watching hours of game tape and breaking down the last game and preparing for the next game its alot to ask. You can though get them to supply some game film, or write a letter of recommendation on your talent and attributes that then you or a recruiting service like COACHPOST1 will then send to the coaches for you.

...this stuff is all available, but it can be a lot to process this is why COACHPOST1 was started to help the parents and student athlete sort it out

NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse
This is where you establish your academic eligibility for NCAA Divisions I & II.
NCAA database of colleges and universities sponsoring sports
This link provides access to the NCAA database of schools sponsoring various sports. It allows you to select by NCAA Division, conference and region of the country and then gives you a list of schools with links to some information about the schools. You can also find the competition schedule for a particular sport at a particular school. The database does not provide direct links to the schools's webpages or the schools sports pages. For that you should look at the

American Colleges and Universities link or perform a "google" search.
NCAA Sports News
This site provides news stories and photos from NCAA competitions. It is a lot of fun, but it does not provide links back to the schools' sports main webpages.
NCAA Divisional Manuals and other references
This is a mother-lode of NCAA rules and information. Much of it is pretty technical but it is the authoritative source when you really need to know an NCAA rule.
NAIA--main website
College recruiting and athletic scholarship information for students considering NAIA schools.
NAIA Guide for the College-Bound Athlete
Information and advice from the NAIA for student athletes considering NAIA schools.
